A Frontend Engineer is required to support the delivery of a high-priority programme operating within a regulated and security-sensitive environment.

This is not a feature factory role. The platform being built is relied upon for real-world decision-making. The frontend layer directly influences clarity, trust and operational effectiveness. Precision and reliability are fundamental.

The organisation remains confidential due to the nature of the programme.

The Opportunity

The role sits within a small, senior technical team delivering an analytical and decision-support platform. The frontend is central to how complex simulations, structured data and operational outputs are interpreted.

Strong engineering fundamentals are essential. This position requires structured thinking around architecture, performance and maintainability, not just React implementation.

There is significant ownership. Expectations are high. Autonomy is assumed.

Responsibilities

Design and implementation of robust frontend components powering dashboards and analytical tools used in complex environments.

Translation of high-density data outputs into clear, structured and dependable user interfaces.

Close collaboration with backend engineering to ensure alignment across APIs, data contracts and performance constraints.

Conversion of design intent into production-grade interfaces, maintaining consistency and usability at scale.

Implementation of frontend logic supporting real-time or near real-time data flows, with deliberate decisions around state management and performance.

Identification of architectural risks, usability gaps and technical debt before they impact delivery.

Experience Required

Strong production experience with React and modern component-based frontend development.

Practical use of TypeScript in complex applications where type integrity and maintainability matter.

Solid grounding in JavaScript fundamentals and API-driven frontend architecture.

Experience building data-intensive platforms or analytical dashboards where clarity and information density are critical.

Clear understanding of state management, performance optimisation and component structure.

Experience collaborating with design functions and working from tools such as Figma.

Desirable

Exposure to modern build tooling such as Vite, styling approaches including Tailwind CSS, and data visualisation libraries such as PlotlyJS.

Experience with frontend testing frameworks, structured Git workflows and cloud-based delivery environments.

Awareness of security and data sensitivity considerations in frontend design.
