Registered Manager – Children’s Residential
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is vital to ensuring high-quality, therapeutic care that supports each child’s development and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Register successfully with Ofsted and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Deliver and promote outstanding standards of care and safeguarding practice
- Lead, supervise, and support the residential care team effectively
- Champion a child-centred approach, ensuring positive outcomes for all young people
- Oversee daily operations, care planning, and risk management procedures
- Manage the home’s resources and budget responsibly
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in line with regulatory expectations
- Build strong working relationships with external professionals, families, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Sound knowledge of current legislation, safeguarding practices, and Ofsted inspection frameworks
- Previous registration with Ofsted as a Registered Manager (desirable)
- Passionate about delivering therapeutic, trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
