Children’s Residential Registered Manager

📍 Location: Southampton
💷 Salary: £38,000 – £42,000
🕐 Shifts: Monday – Friday, Days


Requirements:

  • Must hold a Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Hold or be open to completing the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (fully funded by the company)

  • Must be a driver with access to own vehicle

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior or deputy role within a children’s residential setting

  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding procedures

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team within a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment


The Role:

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Be the Ofsted Registered Person, responsible for the overall management and compliance of the home.

  • Lead and develop a team of dedicated support workers, ensuring high-quality care and support is delivered at all times.

  • Manage day-to-day operations including rota planning, supervisions, appraisals, recruitment, and staff development.

  • Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted inspection standards, promoting best practice at all times.

  • Implement and monitor individual care plans, working closely with external professionals (social workers, schools, CAMHS, etc.) to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Support young people aged 8–17 with emotional, behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma, attachment disorders, and/or mental health needs.

  • Encourage independence and community integration through structured daily activities, education support, and life skills development.

  • Maintain compliance with all safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
